Lorin Maazel is one of the world’s most esteemed and respected conductors of our time. In more than five decades, Lorin Maazel has conducted over 200 orchestras in more than 7000 opera and concert performances.

He was Music Director and Chief Conductor at the New York Philharmonic, the Opera House in Valencia, the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Vienna State Opera, amongst others. He is also the founder and artistic director of the renowned Castleton Festival in Virginia.

Since the 2012/2013 season, Lorin Maazel is Music Director of the Munich Philharmonic.
